Spoken by Juno, queen of the gods, this line expresses her wrath against the Trojans, especially Aeneas. Despite her efforts to oppose fate and Jupiter’s will, she cannot sway the Olympian deities. Undeterred, she vows to awaken the forces of darkness—the underworld’s Acheron—to achieve her ends.
