You know you are Italian when …
(In no particular order of preference!)
- You are able to converse amiably and in detail with somebody 400 yards away, only using your hands;
- You are proud of your Sicilian heritage (ok, ok, Italian heritage);
- You ask what there is for dinner during breakfast;
- Your last name ends in a vowel;
- Nutella is a staple item in your home;
- According to your Nonna (or Mamma, or Zia …), you’re never allowed to be full or dieting, and if you ever tell her, she gets offended;
- You know what wooden spoons are for, and you’ve most likely become an expert at dodging shoes and slippers;
- You value respect;
- You only have two volumes: Loud and LOUDER;
- You greet friends by kissing them on the cheeks;
- You firmly believe that breaking or cutting spaghetti is sacrilege;
- You eat dinner no earlier than 7pm;
- You have a true sense of fashion;
- You are super picky about when and how you drink your coffee; and, by the way, coffee is only espresso, all others are herbal infusions;
Finally, you know you are Italian because you are always right!
